Smallwrld Applications, LLC ("smallwrld," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and website at www.smallwrld.app ("Site"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App and Site.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
Your profile information (name and any photo you choose to upload) is visible to other users only after a successful double opt-in match. Your identity is anonymous to nearby users until you independently choose to express interest and the other user does the same.
We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, and payment processing. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may not use it for their own marketing purposes.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of smallwrld, our users, or the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice in the App before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or complying with legal obligations). Location data from check-in verification is deleted within 24 hours of collection.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may review and update your account information at any time through the App's settings. You may delete your account by contacting us at hello@smallwrld.app. Deletion is irreversible and will remove your profile, inner circle data, and match history.
You can disable location access for the App at any time through your device settings. Disabling location access will prevent you from using the check-in feature but will not affect other App functionality.
You may opt out of push notifications through your device settings at any time. Note that opting out of notifications will prevent you from receiving match alerts and check-in reminders.
You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email we send or by contacting us at hello@smallwrld.app. You will continue to receive transactional and account-related emails even after opting out of marketing communications.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information). When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive SMS notifications from smallwrld, we may use your information to send account alerts and important service-related notifications. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in information, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may share necessary information with service providers strictly to facilitate SMS delivery and provide our services. These providers are not authorized to use your mobile information or SMS consent for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly. The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
